New Year Reading Plan

Dec 31, 2017

The start of the New Year brings moments of reflection and resolution. I imagine many of us have spent some time this week thinking about what we hope 2018 holds for us. As you think about how you want to grow this next year, consider the spiritual impact of reading God’s word.

God has spoken to us through his word! One of the most important things we can do as humans is listen to his voice through the Scriptures.

In 2018, we would love for you to join us as we journey through the Bible together as a church. We all have individual relationships with God, but he’s also designed us to grow together in community. What if people in your small group or other close relationships were reading the same passages together throughout the entire year? Imagine the opportunities we would have to ask questions, discuss, and apply what we are reading and how that would shape us as a people over the next year!

If you would like to participate, download a copy of The Discipleship Journal Reading Plan or pick one up at the Information Desk on Sunday, find a friend or group of friends to join you, and begin reading with us on January 1. The plan has skip days built in, so you can catch up easily if you miss a day or two, and you can jump in anytime!

We’ll be sending emails from our pastors throughout the year with encouragement and with things to keep in mind as you’re reading certain books or sections. If you’d like to receive these emails, you can sign up for those here

Two other resources I would recommend are the ESV Study Bible and the book 66 Love Letters by Larry Crabb. Both of these are helpful in giving insight, context, and perspective as you read.

I hope you’ll join us! Looking forward to seeing how God uses his word in our lives this next year!

Blessings, Kris
