Our Story

On June 1, 2008, the members of First Calvary Baptist Church gathered to celebrate over 175 years of ministry in the Westport neighborhood of Kansas City, and then closed the doors of their church. A week later, the doors of the former Calvary building were opened again and a new church, Redeemer Fellowship, began in Midtown.

Our First Sunday

Our First Sunday

On that first Sunday in 2008, we gathered and asked God for a miracle. We asked him to come and bring about transformation: in ourselves, in our neighborhood, and throughout our city. The work God has done since then has been nothing short of miraculous! Through the message of Gospel, lives have been changed; marriages have been healed and restored; hearts that the Bible describes as "dead" have been brought to life again by the Holy Spirit; hundreds have been baptized; and new life has been breathed into neighborhoods throughout the Kansas City Metro.

Redeemer Johnson County

Redeemer Johnson County

It was the same passion for God's glory to transform the city that lead us to plant Redeemer Johnson County in Overland Park in 2014. Today, as our church gathers corporately on Sundays and in small groups throughout the week, we seek to follow Jesus as a community transformed by his love, enthralled with his grace and provoked by his mission.

Get Involved

Throughout the pages of this site, you will learn more about how you can become a part of what God is doing at Redeemer Fellowship and throughout our city. God's love for our city and his plan for renewal and restoration is beyond anything we could ever imagine.

It gets even better: He invites us to be a part of it.

We exist to cultivate communities of transformed disciples who live for the glory of God and the good of the city.
