JOHSNON COUNTY HAS A BUILDING!

We are now the proud owners of 9135 Haskin’s Street! Partner with us to remodel the building so that we can begin gathering in Lenexa in early 2021.

Building Fund

We began our “Building Opportunity Fund” in 2018, and since then have raised and added nearly $500k! The goal of this fund was to prepare for a down payment on a church building, when one became available. By God’s grace and your generosity, that’s exactly what our Opportunity Fund was able to do!

Remodel Costs

Remodel Costs

One of the things that attracted us to this building was that, relatively speaking, it doesn’t need much work. The previous owner invested $300k-$400k in repairs and updates. With that said, we knew that in order to move in, we would need to remodel the Basement Level of the Sanctuary building to allow for bathrooms and space for RedeemerKIDS. The projected total for this remodel is $365k.

Rising Facilities Expenses

Rising Facilities Expenses

For the past few years, the rising cost of renting at New Haven has become more and more difficult to manage. Due to rising rental rates and the need to utilize space for mid-week gatherings, our rental agreements at New Haven, Plexpod, Matt Ross, etc. have grown by an average of 22% per year from 2014 to 2019. The past fiscal year is the first time our expenses ever decreased, thanks to shutting down services for months. In 2014-15, we spent $101K on facilities. In 2018-19, we spent $226K. That is a 123% increase in four years!

Obviously, there are hundreds of reasons thatwe wanted a permanent home for our church, and this move is primarily motivated by mission, not financial logistics. That said, if we are able to fully fund the construction on this new property, our congregation will save over $40k per year on facilities expenses.

Facilities Budget Update

Facilities Budget Update

This table outlines the overall costs for this project. Once complete, our facilities budget will be 17-18% of our Johnson County Congregation’s budget, which is right where we want to be.

Its Worth It!

Furthermore, these savings come with 24/7 access to our facility! We’re thrilled about the opportunity reinvest our time and money into our church, and in this new neighborhood.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to raise $365k to our Building Fund to fully fund the construction needed to move into our new building. There are two ways you can contribute to our goal.

First, you can give a one-time gift. These gifts will be directly used to begin the construction process.

Second, you can make a 12-month pledge of what you plan to give to the Building Fund in the next year.

Once the combination of our gifts and pledges reaches $365k, we will consider our remodel to be fully funded.
