Welcome to RedeemerKIDS

Parents, we want to partner with you to see Christ made real to your kids. Each Sunday in RedeemerKIDS, our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment where together we can explore the claims of Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that every child has a life-changing encounter with Jesus and receives His gift of salvation. And we hope each child continues to experience God in such a way that they are challenged to live as transformed disciples who live for his glory and the good of those around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages are part of RedeemerKIDS?

Our kids ministry includes 3 months thru 5th grade

What should we expect as a first-time family at JOCO?

We begin RedeemerKIDS check-in 15 minutes before our service times (8:30am, 10:30am) each Sunday. There are two check-in stations, one located in the lowest level of the Sanctuary Building, and the other in the foyer of Luther Hall, which sits just south of our main sanctuary building. Upon entering the check-in area, a volunteer will welcome you, gain necessary information to check in your children, and show you the space where your child will be. You will receive a check-out sticker, which all parents are required to show to check-out their child. Your child will be placed in a small group with other children their age to open the Scriptures, explore the things of God, and have fun while they do it!

After checking in, children 6 months through 3 years may be dropped off at their classrooms in the lower level of the sanctuary building. Children ages Pre-K through 5th grade attend worship with their parents and are dismissed during offering to meet their RedeemerKIDS leaders in the main foyer of the Sanctuary building to head over to Luther.

If your child needs you at any point during the service, we have a text messaging system in place to contact you.

What should we expect as a first-time family at Midtown?

We begin RedeemerKIDS check-in 15 minutes before our service time (10:00 am). Our elementary (K-5th) rooms are located on the first floor across the way from the large, concrete stairs and our early childhood (infants-preschool) rooms are located on the second floor directly to the left once you reach the top of the large stairs. Both hallways have two sets of iPads where you will check-in your children; there are volunteers there to help if you are new to Redeemer or if you run into any issues. You will receive name stickers for each of your children and one parent sticker.

All kids must have their names signed on the clipboards at their classroom door to ensure they have a spot in the classroom, this helps us keep track of the volunteer to child ratio for that classroom. Early childhood kids can be dropped off in their classrooms immediately; elementary students will sign-in on the clipboard, but will attend the beginning part of worship with your family and be dismissed during offering before the sermon.

If your child needs you at any point during the service, we have a text messaging system in place to contact you. Make sure to keep track of your parent sticker because classroom volunteers will ask to see it before you are able to pick-up your child. This helps us verify they belong to you.

What safety measures are in place to protect the children in your care?

Your child’s safety is our first priority. All of our volunteers are background checked, interviewed, and vetted before they begin serving with our children. Security personnel are throughout our building, and parents must present a RedeemerKIDS tag to check out their children.

In the event of a building emergency, you will be notified as to when and where it is safe to receive your children.

What curriculum is used in RedeemerKIDS?

We love to partner with you to teach the Bible to your kids! We believe the Bible is the center and chief authority in every believer’s life, whether that believer is old or young. We use The Gospel Project curriculum, which is designed to help all ages dive deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ. We also work to promote skills that will allow each young person to explore Scripture for themselves. During our classroom times, kids will participate in activities that are relevant to their age, learning style, and developmental level to help reinforce the truths learned that day.
