We believe that Jesus changes everything. In our teaching, games, stories, and discipline, we are pointing children to the truth that Jesus is our only hope.
RedeemerKIDS is more than a place for kids to play under adult supervision. We are active in getting on kids’ levels to engage, play, and communicate. Our classrooms and lessons are designed to reach kids at their specific developmental level.
We believe that each volunteer and child is created with unique gifts, and we want to empower everyone to use those gifts to the glory of God in the classroom and beyond.
Play and positive experiences are essential to children’s brain development and memory. We hope that kids are excited to come to RedeemerKIDS and eager to tell their parents about their time on the way home.
We have worked to make it as easy as possible for you to worship with us! When you arrive, you can check in your children at one of our RedeemerKIDS check-in areas. If it is your first time, a volunteer will walk you through the entire process. You are welcome to check in your child before the service, or keep them with you for the songs before the sermon and check them in before our Offering.
For your child's safety and your peace of mind, we will:
- Do background checks on all volunteers.
- Have allergy alert stickers available at check-in.
- Provide a security tag for your child and ask for the parent's portion of the security tag before releasing any child at check-out.
- Have a text-messaging system available for easy contact in case of emergency.
- Have a security camera system through the RedeemerKIDS area.
- Require anyone entering the children's ministry to show their security tag to a security volunteer.
We request that you do not drop your children off at RedeemerKIDS if they have any of the following symptoms:
- A temperature of 100 degrees or higher in the last 24 hours
- Diarrhea or vomiting in the last 24 hours
- Severe coughing
- Colored nasal drainage (not due to allergies)
- Pink eye
- Head lice
- Undiagnosed rash
- Open skin lesions
- Any communicable disease
RedeemerKIDS believes that God created us all uniquely in his image with an amazing purpose in mind. Our desire is for all children to learn about Jesus Christ in a loving, safe, and accommodating environment. By providing a special needs ministry in RedeemerKIDS, we aim to welcome all children, including those with special needs, to participate in our classrooms.
RedeemerKIDS Duos seeks to remove unnecessary barriers and create deeper inclusion by providing a child with an intentional and consistent one-on-one Duo in the classroom. Duos volunteers receive training and awareness to support families at Redeemer who have children with behavioral, emotional, and/or physical considerations. Duos commit to attending RedeemerKIDS with their buddy every Sunday to build consistency and relationship with the paired family.
We feel that having a Duo can benefit any child who would thrive with more support due to a special needs diagnosis, behavioral challenges, or trauma. If your child would benefit from a consistent one-on-one Duo in their classroom, please fill out the family interest form so we can start the pairing process. If you have additional questions, you can email Alix Carruth.
If you are interested in volunteering as a Duo to support families with special needs at Redeemer, we’d love for you to join our team by filling out this form.
We look forward to loving your family!
We exist to cultivate communities of transformed disciples who live for the glory of God and the good of the city.
