As the name implies, our Community Groups gather for the sake of cultivating community. These gatherings serve as spaces to for groups to regularly share meals, meet needs, pray for one another, read scripture, and encourage each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.
As our mission states, our desire is not simply to cultivate community, but to cultivate communities which consist of transformed disciples. This is the heart of everything we do. Within our Community Groups, even smaller, gender-based Discipleship Groups serve as the space for our people to share the deep parts of their lives and help one another grow in those places as they follow Jesus.
There are two ways to join a Community Group. First is through natural relationship and connection. Groups will regularly add friends, neighbors, etc. throughout the year. The second is through connecting with your congregations’ Groups staff and asking about our on-ramp into groups. If you would like more information on joining a group at Redeemer, please contact your congregational Groups Pastor for more information:

Follow Jesus…
At its core, to be a Christian is to follow Jesus. We believe that Jesus changes everything and that as we follow him our lives will be transformed. But Jesus didn’t come to simply transform us as individuals. Following Jesus draws us into community with others who are being transformed.
…Together
We aren’t meant to follow Jesus alone. We need one another and God designed community to be the environment where Christians grow and thrive by pointing one another toward him. As we follow Jesus together in community, we help one another grow to maturity in Christ by fighting sin and reminding each other of the gospel.
Joining a group costs something - presence and participation. It requires a commitment to be present for weekly meetings. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts, etc. However, it group should be considered a priority. It also requires your participation to come prepared and be willing to give through your participation in the evening.
Most of our Community Groups and Discipleship Groups meet on week nights for 1-2 hours. This is all based around the group’s decision. Our groups will also meet in their own homes all throughout the city.
Our desire is that children would be seen as an active and important part of our Community Groups. They are invited to participate in group meals, and many of the gatherings. We desire to see our children actively engaging with and watching our families follow Jesus together.
However, for some Community Group times and Discipleship Group gatherings, childcare will need to be arranged. Childcare needs will look different for each group, and should be a decision made by the group.
As they look for childcare solutions, all of our leaders are guided by these principles: If you are a member of Redeemer Fellowship, you have made a covenant to provide a positive Christian influence in the lived of the children in your group. Children are a part of the group — they are not a burden, but a blessing that we must steward. The childcare solution must promote safety. Childcare isn’t only the parents responsibility, but that of the whole group.
We desire to see middle school and high school students all over the metro be transformed by God’s grace and grow to understand what it means to love and follow Jesus. Student Ministry has weekly meetings on Wednesday evenings at Morton Hall. The evenings include both large group and small group discussion. For the smaller group times, students divide by age group and gender for specific application. These times are led by teams of adults who have demonstrated godly leadership at our church, and feel a specific calling towards leading and serving young people.
